Do you know that for sure? Have you ever done research on it? I bet you’re the type to say information you heard from another persons mouth. Don’t come to my inbox and cuss up when you don’t even have your facts straight and you’re anonymous. If you want to get technical, every single person in this world has African roots because humans first started to develop in Africa. So you’re basically calling every person black. But since you’re stubborn and you seem to think if a person has a bit of african ancestry you are all black, the same race, same culture, and same heritage; this is pure ignorance. If you didn’t do your research on Dominican republican 11% of the population in DR comes mostly from Africans, 16% comes mostly from European, and 73% are a mixture of it all.Most of the ignorance will always say and highlight the fact that “Over 80%” of Dominicans come from African ancestry which is true but no one ever mentions Close to 90% of Dominicans come from European ancestry”. I don’t appreciate you trying to argue with me about my culture in which you have no background information on. At the end of the day I am Proud to be DOMINICAN! and no body is going to tell me otherwise.

Okay I never said that wasn’t true. I hope you are not offend in any way because I never said anything about any race or culture. My family was born in Dominican republic so that would make them Dominican the same if some one was born in china they’re considered Chinese. I would consider it insulting if people were to call Dominicans “white”. also. It’s not about a racisim thing.

I’m sure their skin color is not “black” nobodies skin color is completely black, and it is stripping me of my heritage because our culture and heritage are completely different and to say that Dominicans are “black” or “white” is like saying our culture is the same as theirs and saying we basically the same and putting us under that category and I think that is a form of ignorance. I don’t have anything against other cultures and I’m not saying my culture is the best I”m just sayin that we should be considered Dominicans and that only. I’m not saying this to be as a racist thing I’m just saying that our cultures are different.
